— Maintaining optimum health —

“If you are able to see the interrelatedness of mind and body, sensitivity towards your body becomes much sharper. Therefore, maintaining of good health also becomes easier”
— Samdhong Rinpoche

The aches and pains of everyday life are not to be ignored. Pain and discomfort are indications that something is not working optimally and this should be addressed. With continued care of your body and mind, your body will look after you. Here are 3 easy steps to remember.

  STEP 1 —

Don’t ignore the niggles. Those little aches and pains that start to appear are often the warning signs of a developing problem. Ignoring the warning signs can lead to longer treatment times and slower recovery rates. As soon as those little niggles start to appear, use ice to control any underlying inflammation and slow controlled stretches to start to restore function.

— STEP 2 —

Try to avoid long periods of inactivity. Spending hours doing one activity such as sitting at a desk, bent over gardening or indeed overloading on the latest Game of Thrones box set will start to ‘seize you up’. Do these things for enough hours every day and your body will start to adapt to the stresses causing imbalance, aching and discomfort. Once again the advice is simple; try to get up and move about every hour or so, have a slow controlled stretch to get yourself moving and continue when you’re ready.

— STEP 3 —

Don’t wait too long. If you have an issue that is starting to cause discomfort then the sooner it is addressed the quicker it is likely to settle down. How often you attend Chiropractic appointments is always up to you. If you feel it is time to make an appointment then feel free to ring or book online to help stop small niggles becoming big problems in the future.
